Early Morning Train Ride

Residents had the opportunity to take a beautiful train ride from Folsom to the El Dorado County line and back on a vintage 1936 Skagline motor car. The day was just perfect for the ride - not too hot and with a gentle breeze. The scenery was amazing!

The residents ended the trip with a brunch picnic in a very nice park. Fruit and banana bread all around!

Move Your Dancing Feet

Dr. McCollum and his wife, Chinta came in and played lovely music for the residents to enjoy. They sang along, played along and danced along. It was a wonderful morning and so much fun to get moving to the music!

Lunch on the River

Residents had a beautiful day on the river! We had lunch on the Delta King, a refurbished river boat that used to take passengers from Sacramento to San Francisco. The Delta King is now a hotel and restaurant that is permanently docked in Old Town Sacramento.

Most of us enjoyed their Shrimp Louie salad, and many others had the fish and chips. It was a lovely day and we all left with our bellies full. A few residents even took the time to stop at a candy shop across the street before we came home to get their fill on sweet goodies. You simply can't go wrong in Old Town Sacramento.

Having a Blast on the Fourth of July

Residents enjoyed festivities on the fourth, starting in the morning with baking desserts for the noon meal. We made a Berry Brownie Pizza, Firecracker cookies (complete with pop rocks for the "explosion"), and festive Rice Crispy Treats.

The noon meal started off with the pledge of allegiance, and our manager Mike said a prayer and a blessing. The residents were touched by this unique and special touch to the meal.

After their delicious meal, the residents headed over to the atrium to play a few games. We had Ladder Golf, life-size Kerplunk, and a Bean Bag Balloon Toss.
